CGKA Minutes August 31st 2006
Called to Order: 8:30 pm on the outside deck of the Copper Salmon.
Attendance: Mark, Cory, Jim, Shay, Eric, & Mike
Discuss requirements of meeting 501-C3 non-profit organizations.
501-C3 would provide tax benefits for members/donors
Make CGKA a legitimate company
Con: ream of paperwork and about $6,000 in assistance
Suggested Motto: "CGKA - Representing Kiteboarders in the Gorge"
Summary of work party at the sandbar on Sat July 29th:
Moved 25 truckloads (tons) of rocks from the launch area onto the ramp
Over 40 people and 5 trucks
Removed line tangling bushes from rigging area.
Jim has left over swag to be raffled off at BBQ
City and Port were impressed with our turnout, work done and communication with authorities.
GREAT JOB!!

FUTURE OF CGKA
We need to address Insurance, Bylaws of CGKA, Spring cleanup, Race series,Fundraising, and a Boadercross.
Insurance: idea of using sponsors general insurance to guard CGKA during an event. Northsports, Slingshot, Kite schools, Gastra, North, Dakine,

CGKA BBQ Sun 9th ***FREE FOOD*** BYOB
Raffle - Dakine Swag, and whatever else Jim can get!!
Carlos, Jim, Mike, and Mark will bring Grills
Jim and Cory will provide press release to shops and emails.
Spring Cleanup - Date TBA early May next Summer
Round Wells Island Non-event event - Date TBA

Everyone needs to make a list of contacts and get more information over the winter
Marina Access:
Nov 15th - May 25th (Friday before memorial day- water is too cold for families)
Present to Port as solution to the winter high water
Sailing carpeted raft (12 x 16 foot with a 8 x 8 ramp)
Help Andy Mack haul raft out of water for the winter
Possibly use at Sandbar if high water continues next season
